Absolutely brilliant work! Thank you for writing this newsletter. I love that it’s about M and other divas, and of course, the sleuthing and scholarship. I just subscribed to your mailing list. Thanks again, looking forward to more essays!
I just stumbled on this fanboy site an article about fincher doing q and a during Gone Girl promotion, I think this article is about the author being a fanboy waiting for fincher to sign his movie posters lol... and there is little madonna tidbits on the last paragraph
Thank you for this very interesting and detailed article ! Maybe I can help you too: in an important Italian newspaper there is an article published in 1995 which claims that everyone in Hollywood knew about Madonna and Fincher affair and in a LA club called Buffalo Fiorentino slapped publicly Madonna. The article reports also that Fiorentino revealed to the press a lot of details about the relationship between Madonna and Fincher.
Loved absolutely loved this insightful article. As a long time and dedicated Madonna fan, I thought I knew everything everything about her, but this article proved me wrong.
Madonna was right about the director needing to be in love with their actresses because she looks absolutely amazing and goddess like in the videos he directed.
Oh wow! It totally makes sense however I never saw it. Especially while looking at Vogue outtakes and Polaroid from EY set. Amazing article, thank you! Can't wait for more
The french tv was a weekly tv show on Canal Plus (french hbo) about cinema and films that were being released in theaters (it was broadcast on wednesdays, the day movies are released in France) and onset reports from coming movies. I can't remember the name of the show, maybe "le journal du cinéma" but the host was Isabelle Giordano ( a self confessed Madonna fan) who is today the director of Unifrance, a semi governmental unit in charge of promoting french cinema around the world.

Wow, thank you so much! I've updated this to reflect that it's Giordano, and I'll keep looking for the name of the show.
